Set to crown their successors in a few hours, Miss Universe PH 2020 titleholders say their goodbyes and thank yous
Once a queen, always a queen.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2020 titleholders said their thank yous and goodbyes as they prepare to crown their successors, who will be determined in a few hours.
Rabiya Mateo, who won the highly coveted title and finished Top 21 at the 69th Miss Universe pageant, said it’s an honor to represent her own country on the international stage. Sharing stunning photos from her photoshoot by Seven Barretto on Instagram, she wrote: “Madamo nga salamat, Pilipinas! Isang karangalan irepresenta ka.”
MUPH 2020 first runner-up Bella Ysmael turned sentimental as she marked the last day of her reign with dreamy snaps. “I’m sad that it’s coming to an end but I’m happy to be spending time and celebrating with my sisters,” she captioned her Instagram post.
Pauline Amelinckx, MUPH 2020 third runner-up, got creative in dealing with her nostalgia. The beauty queen uploaded a YouTube video, where she reacted to her own performance at the preliminary competition. “Just a fun way to reminisce and smile at the experience,” she wrote in the description box.
For her part, Billie Hakenson—who won fourth runner-up at last year’s pageant—described her feelings in four words as she shared a photo of herself after the run-throughs for this year’s tilt: “Tired. Excited. Scared. Emotional.”
Michele Gumabao, meanwhile, posted about her arrival in Bohol where the coronation night will be held. However, she has yet to post about her year-long reign as MUPH 2020 second runner-up.
The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 coronation night will be held on Sept. 30 in Bohol. It will be live-streamed via KTX.
