'Dream,' smiley mask-wearing Minecraft YouTuber, finally reveals face
American YouTuber Dream, the popular anonymous Minecraft content creator who's been known only through his iconic white smiley mask for the past eight years, has finally revealed his face to millions of subscribers and social media followers.
The 23-year old content creator has remained anonymous since he created his YouTube account in 2014.
Before the big reveal in a video uploaded on Oct. 3 Manila time, Dream wrote a cryptic tweet, "today," the day before. He was also dropping hints of sorts in the past few days.
In a more specific tweet before the moment of truth, he said he'll premiere his face reveal video in around two hours, followed by a tweet of a photo of him and his best friends "finally being together."
Will be premiering my face reveal video on YouTube in around 2 hours.

My next tweet will be a picture of me and my best friends finally being together.
Dream's face reveal is a pretty big deal to the Minecraft community and his fans. He has over 5.6 million Twitter followers and 3.1 million on Instagram. He has 30.4 million subscribers on Youtube and 6.2 million on video game streaming platform Twitch.
Before his video premiered, Dream's gaming friends had the privilege to see him first through video call, during which they posted their reaction videos about the surreal moment.
"You don't care who I am," said Dream, who also revealed that his real name is Clay, in his video for the general public. "But now you've seen my face." The video premiere had about 1.2 million live audience.
As to why he finally revealed his face, Dream said his best friend, a fellow gamer who he's known since 11, is moving with him from the United Kingdom to the United States. He also noted that he's been in a bunker for so long, and there are "too many" people trying to find out what he looks like and leak his face online.
That's when he realized that he must get out in the real world, meeting fellow content creators and bonding with friends.
"Be an actual creator. Be a person," Dream said, adding that while he will still make Minecraft videos, he's planning to make more "IRL" (in real life) content.
"There's a cool video idea long time ago that I couldn't do until now," he said. "Lots of creative ideas coming up."
"Now you guys have seen my face, questions over," Dream added. "This is me, unless I'm an actor. Might be an actor, watch it."
Following the face reveal video, which has over 8.6 million views, 1.2 million likes, and 135,000 comments since upload, Dream shared a photo of him and his friends.
