Loki's second season reportedly in the works

It appears that we’re going to see more of Loki following a report that the Disney Plus series’ second season is already in the works.

As reported by Deadline, Loki showrunner Michael Waldron has been tapped to write Kevin Feige’s upcoming Star Wars film. But apart from that, Waldron, who also serves as a writer for Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is also expected to return “in some capacity” for Loki’s season 2.

“Not only is the deal a rarity at the studios, it clearly shows how much faith Disney, Marvel and Lucasfilm have in Waldron going forward and surely should open doors for years to come and many more high-profile properties,” it said.

Loki, the spinoff series starring Tom Hiddleston as the God of Mischief, is among the Marvel shows that are coming to Disney’s streaming service beginning this year. The studio previously announced that its cinematic universe will grow further with the upcoming projects like Secret Invasion, Ironheart, and Armor Wars.

The current Marvel lineup for Disney Plus includes WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, What If…?, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and a series of original shorts I Am Groot.

Apart from Hiddleston, the cast of Loki includes Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. The six-episode series, which takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, will debut on Disney Plus in May 2021.
