LOOK: The stunning floats of the official entries for the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival
It's that time of the year again when the official entries of this year's Metro Manila Film Festival show off their stunning floats at the inaugural Parade of Stars.
The stars of the festival's ten participating films, along with veteran actress and MMFF selection committee head Boots Anson-Roa, attended the affair on Saturday, Dec. 16.
Some of the brightest names who were spotted at the event were Sharon Cuneta and Alden Richards for A Mother and Son's Story; Christopher De Leon for When I Met You in Tokyo; Janella Salvador for Mallari; Matteo Guidicelli for Penduko; Dingdong Dantes for Rewind; Pokwang and Eugene Domingo for Becky and Badette; Alessandra de Rossi for Firefly; Enchong Dee for GomBurZa; Christian Bables for Broken Hearts Trip; and Cai Cortez for K(Ampon).

The parade started at the Navotas Centennial Park at 2 p.m. and headed through C4, Samson Road, and McArthur Highway. It ended at Valenzuela People’s Park where the main event will take place. It ran for 8.7 kilometers, with an estimated travel time of three hours.
This year, the MMFF expanded its movies to a total of 10 from its usual eight entries. They received a 26 scripts from 32 production companies for its 49th edition. In 2022, it got 22 submissions.
The Parade of Stars is an annual tradition showcasing floats inspired by the official entries. On the awards night, the best float will be recognized along with the major acting awards.
Th 49th MMFF will run until Jan. 7.
