Is the suspense on whether or not the hit show Wednesday is getting a second season killing you? Fret no more as Netflix has confirmed that the record-breaking comedy horror show is officially returning to your screens.

In a press release, showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar revealed that they are more than eager to continue Wednesday Addams' kooky and spooky journey.

"It’s been incredible to create a show that has connected with people across the world. Thrilled to continue Wednesday’s tortuous journey into season two. We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky spooky world of Nevermore. Just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first," they said.

This comes as the eight-episode series became one of the streaming site's most successful titles, breaking the record for the most hours viewed in a week for an English-language TV series on Netflix twice, with 341.23 million hours in its debut and 411.29 million hours in its second week.

The show also became a popular craze on TikTok as many were doing their own version of Wednesday's iconic dance scene.

Jenna Ortega is expected to reprise her role as the morbid and emotionally reserved titular character. In the first season, she was joined by Gwendoline Christie, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, and Christina Ricci. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán also appeared as guest stars.

The new season will be produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer, and this has recently gotten fans confused as the production company recently closed a merger with Amazon for $8.5 billion. Some speculated that the rights to the Netflix hit may go to Amazon and the show's second season will premiere on Prime Video instead, but that wasn't the case after all.

Netflix is yet to disclose the plot details and release date of the second season, although the ending of the first one teased that Wednesday has gotten herself her "very first stalker."
