HIGHLIGHTS: Grammy Awards 2023 ceremony

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony takes place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Feb. 5.

Beyoncé is the most-nominated artist of this year’s Grammy Awards with nine nods. She needs three wins to tie for the most Grammy wins in history, as well as four wins to break the all-time record.

Most of the 91 Grammy Awards were handed out at a preshow event before the main ceremony begins.

Here are some of the highlights of the 2023 Grammys ceremony.

Harry Styles wins Album of the Year

Harry Styles has received the Grammy for Album of the Year for Harry's House.

The singer's third studio album was released in May 2022.

It contains his hit singles As It Was and Late Night Talking.

Lizzo wins Record of the Year, while Bonnie Raitt gets Song of the Year

It's About Damn Time for Lizzo, who just won the Grammy for Record of the Year.

Meanwhile, Bonnie Raitt got a surprise win in the Song of the Year category for Just Like That.

'Best New Artist' Samara Joy wins both her Grammy nods

Samara Joy has won the Grammy for Best New Artist.

She was up for two nominations during the 65th Grammy Awards ceremony, winning both.

The other nomination was for Best Jazz Vocal Album.

Sam Smith and Kim Petras grab attention with 'Unholy' Grammys performance

Sam Smith and Kim Petras donned bold, all-red looks for their duo performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards ceremony.

Their number drew comparisons online with Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj for their over-the-top aesthetic.

Smith and Petros also accepted the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Beyoncé wins most Grammy Awards in history

Beyoncé has broken the all-time record for most Grammy Award wins in history.

The singer collected four awards so far at the ongoing Grammys ceremony today, bringing her record to 32.

She was the most-nominated artist of this year’s Grammy Awards with nine nods.

Kim Petras becomes first transgender woman to win Grammy

Kim Petras has become the first transwoman to win a Grammy Award.

This comes after Petras accepted the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Collaboration along with Sam Smith for their song Unholy.

Petras was previously the first openly trans artist to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2021.

Viola Davis achieves EGOT status after winning Grammy

Viola Davis has become the 18th person to achieve EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) status.

This comes after the Recording Academy awarded her a Grammy for her memoir Finding Me in the Audio Book, Narration, And Storytelling Recording category.

“I wrote this book to honor the six-year-old Viola. To honor her life, her joy, her trauma, everything. It has been such a journey,” Davis opened her acceptance speech.

She even competed against fellow EGOT Mel Brooks in the same category.

“I just EGOT!” the actress said.

Davis previously won an Emmy for How To Get Away With Murder in 2015, Tonys for King Hedley II in 2001 and Fences in 2010, and an Oscar for the film adaptation of Fences in 2016.

The next most recent person to earn the EGOT distinction was Jennifer Hudson, who won a Tony in June 2022.

The rest of the EGOT list includes Richard Rogers, Helen Hayes, Rita Moreno, John Gielgud, Audrey Hepburn, Marvin Hamlisch, Jonathan Tunick, Mike Nichols, Whoopi Goldberg, Scott Rudin, Robert Lopez, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Time Rice, John Legend, and Alan Menken.

Taylor Swift wins Grammy for Best Music Video for 'All Too Well: The Short Film'

Taylor Swift's All Too Well: The Short Film has won the Grammy for Best Music Video this year.

"I can’t put into words what this means to me. For the [Recording Academy] and my peers to acknowledge me as a director, and in doing so, acknowledge my work to try and reclaim my music… I’m blown away. Thank you to all the fans who willed this to happen," Swift posted in response to her achievement.

All Too Well originally came from the singer's fourth studio album, Red, in 2012. She released the uncut 10-minute version as part of her second rerecorded album, Red (Taylor's Version) in 2021.
