Attention, Potterheads: Harry Potter theme park in Tokyo is set to open in June
Ever dreamt of taking part in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter? This is your sign to book that flight to Tokyo.
Following the success of the movie’s first theme park in London, Warner Bros Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter is set to open its doors to Potterheads on June 16 in Tokyo.
Located at the former Toshimaen site, the theme park offers a brand new experience for its visitors, featuring its iconic sets, real props, and original costumes that allows them not just to be entertained, but also to learn about the production of the beloved film.
Unlike in London, the Tokyo theme park will also feature sets from its spin-off film Fantastic Beasts.
Some of the sets to look forward to are Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest, and Hogwarts’ Great Hall.

It will also display the original Hogwarts Express located on Platform 9 ¾ that was used in the movie. After it was run and operated by the Great Western Railway, the train was refurbished in England and shipped to Japan for the Studio Tour.
Original costumes used in the movie will also be on display, such as the Hogwarts Uniform and those of Albus Dumbledore and Beauxbatons that were seen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Visitors can cap off the day enjoying food with a British twist at the park's Food Hall, which features Harry Potter-inspired restaurants and cafes, like the Butterbeer Bar, Backlot Cafe, and Chocolate Frog Cafe.
Tickets will go on sale starting March 22 for JPY 6, 300 (~P3, 200) for adults, JPY 5,200 (P2,150) for those aged between 12-17, and JPY 3,800 (P1,570) for children ages 4-11.
