SB19’s ‘Bazinga’ reigns supreme on Billboard’s Hot Trending chart, replacing BTS
SB19 can’t stop breaking their own records—and their fandom A’TIN is there to make it happen every time.
SB19 made P-pop history as Bazinga topped Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart this week. The fiery pop-dance track was on the eighth spot on the chart.
The five-member boy group is also the first musical act to replace K-pop superstars BTS’ which has been ranking number one for six weeks.
Bazinga reigned with 1.5 million Twitter mentions (or up 67%) in the tracking week which ran from Nov. 26 to Dec. 2. According to Billboard, this is SB19’s first time to top any chart.
SB19 took to social media to express their gratitude to fans. “I'M FIRE I LINGERRRR YEAH! Wow! Thank you A'TIN for bringing us to the Top Spot on the Billboard #HotTrendingSongs,” they wrote on Facebook.
Bazinga is followed by BTS’ Butter and Permission to Dance, Stray Kids’ Christmas EveL, Dimash Kudaibergen’s Fly Away, Mew Suppasit’s Spaceman, BE:FIRST’s Gifted, and EXO Kai’s Peaches, respectively.
To recall, Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart is powered by the number of mentions on Twitter. It tracks global music-related conversations and trends in real-time which are viewable over the last 24 hours or past seven days.
In other words, Billboard tracks what songs people are talking about on Twitter, and “not necessarily what they’re listening to.”
Bazinga is the third single of SB19’s first EP Pagsibol.
