Manila Philharmonic Orchestra to perform music from 'Hamilton,' Studio Ghibli in its 25th anniversary concert
Attention, TV and film geeks! Manila Philharmonic Orchestra is holding its 25th-anniversary concert featuring music from popular movies and theater soundtracks.
The show, titled "Lights, Camera, Encore! - Music from the Stage and Screen," will relive fan-favorite scenes from various movies and musicals on October 29 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater.
Attendees can expect music from Star Wars, Hamilton, Studio Ghibli movies, A Star is Born, Game of Thrones, and more.
In addition, special guests like Bituin Escalante, Arman Ferrer, Lara Maigue, the UST Singers, and the Philippine Madrigal Singers are set to take the stage.
Tickets are available at Ticketworld outlets and online. They are priced at P2,500 for upper balcony, P3,000 for lower balcony, P4,500 for loge left/right, P5,500 for loge center, P5,500 for orchestra left/right, and P6,500 for orchestra pit/center.
The Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, founded in 1998 has established itself as one of the leading orchestras in the country.
Gracing the stage as an active member of the local musical theater scene, the group is known for their remarkable performances in musicals like Bituing Walang Ningning: The Musical, and Filipino productions of The Wedding Singer, Sound of Music, King and I, and Cinderella.
The MPO also collaborated with several international artists like Icelandic singer and musician Laufey who visited the Philippines last May 28 & 29 for "A Night at the Symphony."
