You can watch these digitally restored Filipino classics for free starting February
Love watching classic movies?
ABS-CBN Film Restoration recently announced that you can watch nine of its digitally restored and remastered classic films for free for a limited time.
Until the end of February, you can watch three of Vilma Santos' timeless movies: 1975 film Tag-Ulan Sa Tag-Araw that tells the story of Nanette (Santos) who fell in love with her first cousin; Kapag Langit Ang Humatol (1990) that tells the story of Florida (Santos), an oppressed housemaid who rose from the ranks to get revenge on people who made her suffer in the past; and Ikaw Ay Akin (1978) that tackles infidelity.
You can catch more digitally restored versions of Pinoy classics in March, including Mga Bilanggong Birhen (1977), which tells the story of the revolution of oppressed “Pulajanes” to fight abuse and injustice; Nunal Sa Tubig (1976) that revolves around a love triangle in a marginalized community; as well as Filipino cosmic superhero film Captain Barbell, played by Dolphy—the "King of Comedy."
Among the classic films available in April for free are Ikaw Pa Lang Ang Minahal (1992) that focuses on romance mishaps and conflicting relationships and Soltero (1984) that shows the life of Crispin (Jay Ilagan) and his search for love as he approaches his 30s. There's also Moral (1982), which is about four struggling, empowered women coming together to find solutions to their individual problems in a myriad of ways.
The classic films will be streamed for free on Star Cinema’s YouTube channel from February to April.
