BLACKPINK's Jennie is starring in new variety show, ‘Apartment 404’
Blinks, rejoice! BLACKPINK's Jennie will star again in a variety show after five years.
On Wednesday, Dec. 20, South Korean TV network tvN announced the cast for its upcoming variety show, Apartment 404, in a teaser uploaded to its official YouTube channel.
The 15-second video also features glimpses of the cast members, including the BLACKPINK member, and the overall theme and direction of the variety program.
Aside from Jennie, the show includes Running Man members Yoo Jae Suk and Yang Se-chan, Moving stars Lee Jung Ha and Cha Tae Hyun, and Oh Na-ra of Sky Castle.
Directed by Jung Chul Min, who has previously worked on hit Korean shows such as Running Man and Sixth Sense, Apartment 404 is a reality-variety program that centers on the journey of six apartment building occupants who, each week, must solve a new mystery based on real-life events.
In order to solve numerous puzzles throughout the episodes, the cast members will have to put their detective skills to the test as they travel across various times and locations to unravel the secrets lurking within the confines of Apartment 404.
This will be Jennie's first variety show after five years following Village Survival: The Eight in 2018. She also dropped her solo comeback last October with the release of her new dance-pop track You & Me.
Meanwhile, the variety show will also mark the first time Yoo Jae Suk and Cha Tae-hyun share the spotlight as prominent cast members.
Apartment 404 will premiere sometime in the first half of 2024 on tvN. International availability of the series has yet to be announced.
In October, the South Korean TV network confirmed the industry insider reports that Jennie and Lee Jung Ha would be starring in the show.
"It is true that Jennie and Lee Jung Ha are confirmed to appear on 'Apartment 404.' The broadcasting details are yet to be decided," tvN said during that time.
