Marvel fan sets Guinness World Record by watching 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' in theaters 292 times
How many times would you watch your favorite movie in the cinemas?
Florida resident and proud Marvel fan Ramiro Alanis broke a Guinness World Record for the "most cinema productions attended of the same film," after watching Spider-Man: No Way Home in theaters 292 times from December 16, 2021 to March 15, 2021. This means he spent a total of 720 hours or 30 days at the moviehouse.
Alanis attended Spidey screenings back-to-back, watching the movie five times every day during its first weeks. When he would see late-night viewings, he started getting headaches from having already watched the flick.
He also told GWR that he could "pretty much recite any dialogue along with the movie."
Although he didn't keep track of how much he spent on breaking the record, Alanis estimates he shelled out an estimate of $3,400 (around P178,000) on movie tickets.

Hardcore Marvel fan
This isn't Alanis' first time setting the record: in 2019, he watched Avengers: Endgame 191 times. His streak was outdone by Arnaud Klein who viewed Kaamelott: First Installment 204 times in theaters in 2021.
When he reclaimed the honor, the diehard Marvel fan dedicated the record to his grandmother who passed away in 2019.
"She was my number one supporter, and I want to remain the record holder, he told GWR.
For a viewing to be successfully counted by GWR, the movie must be watched independently of any activity—no napping, no scrolling on phones, or even going to the bathroom while the movie is running.
The film's credits must also be seen to completion, an easy feat for Marvel fans as the studio always has end-credits scenes filled with easter eggs.
As proof of the viewing, Alanis had to present every ticket stub and get a statement from a theater attendant.
"If anyone tries to break my record again, I want them to think twice before attempting it," Alanis added.
Spider-Man: No Way Home made history during its December 2021 release, shattering box office records. It became the third-best movie opening ever, following other Marvel Studios flicks like Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War.
