One of the most beloved characters in Attack on Titan recently got his own statue in the hometown of series creator Hajime Isayama.

As reported by Anime News Network, a life-size bronze statue of Captain Levi Ackerman was unveiled at JR Hita Station in Hita City of Oita Prefecture in Japan last Saturday.

"He is the most popular character that has supported Attack on Titan all the way, and I'm indebted to him. I hope he is pleased,” Isayama reportedly commented on the unveiling.

Prior to Levi's statue, Eren, Armin, and Mikasa's bronze representations from the fall of Wall Maria were unveiled at Oyama Dam in Hita City last year, according to the report.

Attack on Titan follows the story of Eren Yeager and his quest to kill every titan in existence following the destruction of his town and the death of his mother.

Japanese publisher Kodansha previously announced that Isayama's popular manga series is coming to an end after 11 and a half years, with the final installment set to be released in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine on Apr. 9, 2021.

The source material for the massively-successful anime series has been compiled into 32 volumes since its debut in 2009.
