Mark Hamill finally meets 'Star Wars' mother Natalie Portman
Luke Skywalker has finally met his mother!
Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, who played protagonist Luke Skywalker in the franchise's original trilogy, gushed on X (formerly Twitter) over meeting Natalie Portman, who played Luke's mother Padmé Amidala in the prequel trilogy.
"Now I have finally met my "mother," thanks to the @goldenglobes," Hamill wrote.

The two stars never got to appear in a Star Wars movie together as the first trilogy with Hamill was released from 1977 to 1983 while the prequel trilogy was dropped over a decade later from 1999 to 2005.
The Golden Globes meeting isn't the first time the two have expressed meeting each other. In 2018, the 72-year-old actor retweeted a post greeting Portman for her birthday. He said, "FUN FACT: I've never met this woman."
Later in the week, the Black Swan actress was asked about meeting Hamill on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
"I know, it's such a shame. I would love to meet him. Mark, I would love to meet you. Where are ya? Come over!" she said in 2018.
Prior to the tweet, the Joker voice actor was able to meet his prequel on-screen father Hayden Christensen in 2017. Christensen played Anakin Skywalker (later to transform into Darth Vader) in Episodes I to III as well as in other Star Wars Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka.
Since the first Star Wars movies, Hamill has returned as Luke Skywalker for the sequel trilogy (2015 to 2019) alongside Harrison Ford and the late Carrie Fisher. Portman has yet to reprise her role in other Star Wars series but said she's "open" to it in 2023.
Portman's character Padmé Amidala was Anakin's love interest who died giving birth to their twins Luke and Leia.
