Pinoy pageant fans expressed their mixed reactions to the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night in hilarious yet relatable memes.

The local pageant, which lasted for almost six hours, was held on Wednesday, May 22. The hashtag #MissUniversePhilippines2024 as well as the names of other candidates and their respective hometowns landed on the list of X's trending topics, with thousands of posts on the social media platform.

Chelsea Manalo of Bulacan won the highly coveted crown, which came as a surprise to some as pageant experts had other predicted winners this year. She was followed by Cainta's Stacey Gabriel (1st runner-up), Baguio's Tarah Mae Valencia (3rd runner-up), and Taguig's Christi McGarry (4th runner-up).

Here are some of the viral reactions to certain parts of the recently concluded event that drew laughs on social media.

Reacting to the results of the pageant, an X user uploaded a video depicting the predictions of pageant pages for this year's tilt. In case you didn't know, Missosology and Sash Factor had the same three candidates as their final top picks for the competition, which included Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province, Christi McGarry of Taguig, and Victoria Velasquez Vincent of Bacoor.

Ahtisa ended up winning 2nd runner-up and Miss Cosmo Philippines, while Christi was named 4th runner-up. Victoria, meanwhile, finished in the Top 10 of the pageant.

This year’s coronation night started at 8:30 p.m. and ended at around 1 a.m. the next day. Pageant fans couldn’t help but express their frustration over the long commercial breaks at the end of every segment.

One X user tweeted a photo of Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo, which was turned into a meme after the 69th Miss Universe due to her "low energy hosting."

Other social media users, meanwhile, pointed out how "passionate" yet hilarious Alden Richards was as he announced the top candidates for the competition.

Meme page Kabulastugan, meanwhile, uploaded a compilation of clips of Alden mentioning the candidates' hometowns and wrote, "Saan ba okay magteam-building?”

Others also poked fun at how Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee awkwardly placed the crown on Chelsea’s head—one that even Dee couldn't get over just yet. "My mind is still here," she tweeted on May 23.

"I need to balance my problems like how Bulacan balances her crown," an Internet user wrote as they shared a screenshot of the viral moment.

The grand coronation night took place at the Mall of Asia Arena. Aside from the Top 5 candidates, four other queens were crowned after the MUPh ceremonies: Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province, who won 2nd runner-up at the tilt, was crowned Miss Cosmo Philippines. MUPh 2024 3rd runner-up Tarah Valencia of Baguio, meanwhile, won Miss Supranational Philippines.

Alexie Brooks of Iloilo was announced as the Miss Eco International Philippines titleholder, while the Miss Charm Philippines crown was given to Cyrille Payumo of Pampanga. They both finished in the Top 10 of the local pageant.
