Were Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire edited out of 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' trailer?
When the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home dropped on Nov. 16, it took over Twitter's worldwide trends as eagle-eyed fans scoured the teaser for every easter egg they found.
Marvel fans were disappointed that former Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield weren't in the trailer, especially since the villains they defeated were set to return in the upcoming film. But not all hope for a multiverse Spidey crossover is lost.
There's a clip of Tom Holland's Peter Parker going up against Amazing Spider-Man big bads Electro and The Lizard as well as the original trilogy's Sandman, which fans think Garfield and Maguire were edited out of.
In this scene, some people have noted that The Lizard isn't actually leaping at Holland but at someone else. The Brazilian version of the trailer showed an extra second of the scene where The Lizard getting hit by nothing. Clearly, there's someone else in this part—perhaps another Spider-Man?

Marvel has cut out characters from trailers and added new scenes in the past to make the movies more exciting when it hits cinemas. For instance, Avengers: Infinity War's trailer had a scene where Captain America was leading the earth's mightiest heroes against Thanos and his army which wasn't in the final cut of the film.
Holland and Garfield have denied rumors that other multiverse Peter Parkers will be in No Way Home, but from the looks of the trailer, we're in for a number of surprises when it hits theaters.
