Marvel has just released an update on one of its most anticipated films for 2024. On June 6, the entertainment studio announced that its fourth Captain America film is getting a new title in "Brave New World."

The news comes almost a year after Marvel revealed that the film is called Captain America: New World Order during the 2022 San Diego Comic Con in July of that year.

At that time, Marvel also announced that the film is slated for a May 3, 2024 release date. This, on the other hand, remains unchanged, according to the studio's update on social media last Tuesday.

The post also included a first-look photo of Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford on the film's set.

In Captain America: Brave New World, Mackie is set to reprise his role as Sam Wilson who took on the Captain America shield at the end of the Marvel and Disney+ series Falcon And the Winter Soldier. The upcoming film would be his big-screen debut as the titular Avenger.

Ford is meanwhile making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a United States military officer who was previously played by William Hurt prior to his passing in March of last year. In the upcoming film, Hurt has become the new president of the country.

He is also the father of Betty, who was portrayed by Liv Tyler in 208's The Incredible Hulk. The actress is making her MCU comeback through the upcoming Captain America film along with Tim Blake Nelson who played Samuel Sterns in the 2008 film.

Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah, who is also the creator of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Although the plot of the upcoming film is still under wraps, Marvel published a comic of the same name under its Secret Empire miniseries. In the 2017 comics, Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, is revealed to be the leader of Hydra! As he resorts to doing all things necessary to bring world peace, the rest of Earth's heroes find themselves in a battle between choosing to fight or simply surrender.
