Here are the Easter eggs in Taylor Swift's 'Lavender Haze' music video which you might have missed
Taylor Swift has released the music video for Lavender Haze and as Swifties expected, the surreal and dreamlike reel stashes a lot of Easter eggs in true Tay Tay fashion.
Written and directed by Taylor, Lavender Haze's MV features the pop star singing the synth-pop and R&B track in a room she shares with her on-screen boyfriend. While inside the enclosed area, Taylor is taken to other dreamy dimensions that are, well, all lavender-themed.
The track is part of her tenth studio album titled Midnights which was released on Oct. 21 of last year. Its video, meanwhile, is the first one Taylor wrote out of the three she has released from the album. The other two videos are for Anti-Hero released on Oct. 22 and Bejeweled on Oct. 25 of last year.
"This one (Lavender Haze) really helped me conceptualize the world and mood of Midnights, like a sultry sleepless 70’s fever dream," Taylor wrote on Twitter.
The singer explained in an Instagram reel that the song's title was taken from one of the episodes of the hit series Mad Men, which was set in 1960s New York.
"I happened upon the phrase 'lavender haze' when I was watching Mad Men. I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool, and it turns out that it's a common phrase used in the 50s where they would just describe being in love," she said.
While Swifties speculated that Taylor dedicates the song to a past lover, the singer stopped the rumor mill by revealing that Lavender Haze is inspired by her current beau Joe Alwyn and the challenges they faced in their relationship.
The 33-year-old singer confirmed her relationship with the 31-year-old actor at a listening part7 in October 2017 after dating for a year.
“Like my relationship for six years, we’ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff and we just ignore it,” Taylor said about her latest track. “So this song is about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff."
Symbolic easter eggs have been spotted by fans shortly after the video's release, including the Mastermind record with the star signs of the couple—Sagitarrius and Pisces—on the cover.
Another Easter egg spotted by fans is the number 13 written above Nashville in the scene where a newscaster is giving a weather report. "13" is said to be Taylor's favorite number, while Nashville is where she grew up to become a singer.

The weather forecaster was also speculated by fans to be a representation of Taylor's past lover, which she mentioned in her song Midnight Rain. Part of the song's lyrics says, "Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me."
According to Swifties, the smoke rings blown by Taylor, which appear to be forming an image of a clock, were done in reference to Alice in Wonderland's caterpillar and the clock used to promote her Midnights album.
Fans also dissected that the pop star might be hinting at the upcoming release of her pre-recorded album Speak Now through the purple haze used throughout the film. They speculated that the color is linked to the purple elevator button Taylor pressed in her video for Bejeweled.

Cryptic details were also identified such as the purple flowers that allude to the bed of flowers in her debut album Our Song and the Koi fish which consistently appeared in all Midnight music videos, which could be another clue for her next release.
