The trailer also featured the genius inventor Riri Williams a.k.a. Ironheart, who is apparently the next in line to succeed the late Tony Stark as the new armor-clad superhero, as well as Namor, the king of an ancient civilization of underwater-dwelling people.
The film centers on what happens to the kingdom of Wakanda in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, and Okoye are plunged into conflict as they struggle to protect their nation from intervening world powers without T’Challa by their side.
With the help of War Dog Nakia and Everett Ross, Wakandans now forge a new path for the kingdom.
Along with Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Danai Gurira, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will star Tenoch Huerta as Namor, and Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena, and Alex Livanalli.
Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film will premiere in theaters on Nov. 9.
