July is a month for K-pop soloists! Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, one of the most iconic main vocalists in the industry, has released a track that’s perfect for the weekend. EXO’s D.O. also stole fans’ hearts with his highly-anticipated solo debut. 

It’s not a big sin if you want to explore K-pop songs that offer more refreshing melodies. Don’t get us wrong—we enjoy jamming to bubblegum- or techno-inspired tracks by our fave groups. But of course, it doesn’t hurt to seek something new.

DAY6: Even of Day (July 5)

DAY6: Even of Day starts off the month with their second mini-album “Right Through Me.” The album features tracks inspired by the ‘80s and ‘90s, and they seamlessly blended with their signature pop-rock sound. 

We’re obsessed with the title track Right Through Me that talks about the despair of breaking up with a lover.

(G)I-DLE’s Soyeon (July 5)

Neverlands, rejoice! (G)I-DLE’s Soyeon has finally released her first solo EP “Windy.” since she debuted as the girl group’s main rapper, center, and music producer. And she didn’t disappoint!

Don’t be fooled by the innocent vibe of her album cover. The tracks are explicit and flirty, perfect if you’re in the mood to feel yourself. 

Super Junior’s Kyuhyun (July 5)

Close your eyes, and make sure to put Together by Super Junior’s Kyuhyun on repeat. Voilà! You fulfilled your dream of becoming the protagonist of your imaginary K-drama. This wholesome track feels like the ending scene of a K-drama where you meet your Oppa for the first time. 

Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon (July 6)

Welcome the weekend on a happier note with this retro-inspired track by Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon. This song is a refreshing change from her previous songs that usually showcase her powerful vocals. 

Weekend is more laidback on the ears as well, perfect for lounging on a chill day. 

BTS (July 9)

You don’t need any permission to stream this feel-good pandemic bop! BTS has finally released the CD version of Butter, which includes the catchy comeback single Permission to Dance. This uplifting song is the perfect way to put you in a good mood, especially with the ongoing pandemic.

Minzy (July 11)

Have you missed listening to the voice of former 2NE1 member Minzy on your K-pop playlist? Same. So, it’s no wonder that her Latin-inspired track Teamo feels like a well-deserved gift to fans. The sensual track shows off the singer’s feminine side while staying true to her performance abilities.

EXO’s D.O. (July 26)

Raise your hands if you want to be Kyungsoo’s lover? Same. Do Kyungsoo revealed that he’s looking for a partner in his solo album “Empathy.” The acoustic album features tracks that talk about love towards a significant other, parents, self, and more. 

We guarantee that it’s a no-skip release and it gets better in every listen. But if we have to pick a favorite, it’s probably My Love.

AKMU (July 26)

Sibling duo AKMU is the perfect way to end the month with their mini-album “Next Episode.” The album features star-studded collaborations with artists IU, Beenzino, Zion.T, Sam Kim, and more. It also comes with tracks that are reminiscent of the duo’s storytelling ability through their music.
