'Maria Clara at Ibarra' and other GMA shows to be streamed on ABS-CBN platform starting May 1
Filipinos across the globe can soon watch some of their favorite GMA shows on ABS-CBN's streaming platform.
Following their historic collaboration on TV series Unbreak My Heart, GMA Network and ABS-CBN are bringing more fun and entertainment to Pinoys with another partnership that would air some GMA shows on iWantTFC next month.
According to a press release, Maria Clara at Ibarra, My First Yaya, The World Between Us, Abot Kamay na Pangarap, and Apoy sa Langit, among others, will be available on iWantTFC around the world starting May 1.
Selected countries in Asia and the Pacific include India, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea.
It will also reach its viewers in the Middle East, particularly in Afghanistan, Cyprus, Israel, Libya, Iraq, Palestine, Turkey, and Yemen.
The offer will likewise be made available in North African nations, namely, Algeria, Chad, Djibouti, Malta, Mauritania, Morocco, Somalia, and Tunisia.
European countries include France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and South Pacific/Caribbean territories.
“This collaboration with ABS-CBN is another validation of this commitment as we make our world-class content available to a wider audience. At the end of the day, the Filipino viewers—our boss—will greatly benefit from this,” said Ronaldo Mastrili, GMA Network Senior Vice President for Finance and ICT.
Jun Del Rosario, ABS-CBN's International Managing Director, reiterated the network’s mission of “being in the service of the Filipino.”
“We are delighted to add a slate of live-streaming channels and popular shows from GMA to our ever-growing news and entertainment offerings. As the home of Filipino stories, we will continue to give our audience easy access to content they trust us to deliver," he said.
GMA Network and ABS-CBN have long been rivals on free television until the latter’s failed bid for a new franchise in 2020. Since then, they have been focusing on producing shows online as "content creator."
Their historic tie-up, teleserye Unbreak My Heart—starring Joshua Garcia, Jodi Sta. Maria, Richard Yap, and Gabbi Garcia—is set to premiere on GMA Network, Viu, and iWantTFC this year.
