K-drama 'Signal' confirmed for season 2
Action-thriller TV series Signal is confirmed to return for a second season with its original writer and director.
According to a report by Korean media outlet Soompi, director Jang Won Seok announced on March 13 that he and writer Kim Eun Hee are preparing for the second season of the hit K-drama series.
More details including its plot, cast, and release date are yet to be unveiled.
Writer Kim Eun-Hee previously said that there are still more storylines to explore after the series' first season.
"I also have the desire and will to make Signal season 2 in some way. No matter what, I want to show it to you before I retire," she said while promoting Kingdom: Ashin of the North.
Signal follows the story of police detectives in modern times who are on a mission to solve cold cases with the help of a mysterious walkie-talkie that allows them to connect and coordinate with a detective from 1989.
It first premiered in 2016 and starred Cho Jin-woong, Kim Hye-soo, and Lee Je-hoon who is also the lead star in the series Taxi Driver.
The action-thriller bagged the Best Drama, Best TV Script, and Best Actress awards at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards.
