‘Saan may community pantry?’ This site tracks open community pantries near you

Published Apr 20, 2021 7:27 pm

With community pantries making waves online and off, a new tracker site has been created dedicated to showcasing the available community pantries in the country.

saanyan.github.io/saanmaycommunitypantry/ was developed by the same people who created the “Saan May Delivery” site, which tracks available deliveries at the height of the lockdown last year.

The site is easy enough to navigate, as it shows a detailed map of the Philippines with pins serving as the open community pantries. It also comes with the exact addresses, the type of goods, and the contact number of the organizers.

Those who want to register their pantry on the site may also fill out this Google Form

Meanwhile, the Maginhawa Community Pantry which started the entire initiative was temporarily closed earlier today amid allegations of red-tagging.

“Tuloy pa rin po. Kailangan ko lang i-ensure yung safety po namin, lalo na ng mga volunteers and even po yung mga pumipila. Hindi po kasi biro ang red-tagging,” Maginhawa Community Pantry organizer Ana Patricia Non shared in a press conference.

LGUs such as Pasig and other Metro Manila cities have also announced that they will not be asking for permits from the voluntary pantries.
