BTS praises Philippine fans, says they would 'like to see you as soon as possible'
South Korean music act BTS showered the Philippines and their Pinoy fans a lot of love during the launch of their commercial for Smart Communications, with the group even saying that they want to visit the country again soon.
In a recorded interview shown to members of the press on Thursday, April 22, the members of Korean music group—RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook—expressed their desire to see and perform for Filipino fans.
BTS performed in the Philippines in 2017 as part of their The Wings Tour.
“I'd like to visit again as soon as possible to hear the cheers of ARMY in Philippines,” RM said.
Jin said, the “Philippines is a great country and I really want to go there as a vacation spot. I'd like to visit you again.”
“We know very well that you are always sending us messages through social media,” Jimin tells Filipino fans. “You are also doing various activities such as uploading videos that cover our songs or dances and participating in competitions.”
“I heard that there are a lot of ARMY in the Philippines. I'd like to see you as soon as possible,” V isaid.
Jungkook added, “Yes, I'm very grateful to all the ARMY who support us from far away.”
Suga, meanwhile, said he occasionally watches Philippine basketball. “They really love basketball,” he said. “I enjoy watching it these days.”
J-Hope said the Philippines “can’t be left out” when they do a Southeast Asian concert tour.
Smart launched their BTS commercial today, weeks after the company officially announced the group as their endorser. Smart executives said bringing BTS to the country is not part of the plan for their campaign, given travel restrictions, but hopes to be able to do so in the future.
