Attention, aspiring theater actors: The Virgin Labfest opens auditions for five plays

Calling all aspiring theater actors!

The Virgin Labfest, the country's annual festival of unstaged plays, is holding auditions for five entries.

The Cultural Center of the Philippines made the announcement in a Facebook post on Wednesday, March 15, listing five plays along with their synopses and characters.

Sunod sa Bilang, from writer Eljay Castro Deldoc and director Chris Martinez, revolves around gay prisoner Hagibis who's about to be released in two weeks. His inmates threw a despedida party for him, but he isn't much excited about leaving.

10 to Midnight, from writer Juliene Mendoza and director Sarah Facuri, revolves around the relationship between two brothers who are dealing with addiction problems.

Awit ng mga Dalagang Marmol, from writer Andrew Estacio and director Nazer Salcedo, revolves around actors who are creating a play about the popular, controversial song Jocelynang Baliwag, dubbed as "Kundiman ng Himagsikan."

Ang Tuyom, from writer Marjay Manalastas and director Gio Potes, is a play serving as an examination of the self gradually fading due to misery.

O'Donnell, from writer Jerry O'Hara and director Issa Manalo-Lopez, revolves around the military camp in Capas in Tarlac that served as a destination for thousands of Filipino soldiers who surrendered at the Battle of Bataan during the "Death March."
