LOOK: Elon Musk unveils Optimus Gen 2—an AI-powered robot that can squat, boil eggs, and dance
Elon Musk shared a video of Tesla’s artificial intelligence-powered humanoid robot that can squat, boil eggs, and dance.
In a video posted on X on Wednesday, Dec. 13, Optimus Gen 2 can be seen stretching its arms, walking, squatting, and even putting an egg in a pot.
It’s the successor to last March’s Optimus Gen 1 robot, which followed September 2022’s Bumblebee.

Optimus Gen 2’s features include Tesla-designed actuators and sensors, two degrees of freedom (DoF) actuated neck, actuators-integrated electronics and harnessing, 30% walk speed boost, foot force with torque sensing, articulated toe selections, and human foot geometry.
It also has a 10kg total weight reduction without sacrifice, improved balance and full body control, faster 11-DoF brand-new hands, tactile sensing on all fingers, and delicate objects manipulation.
“Stay tuned to see what Optimus will do next!” a text toward the end of the video read before the company logo flashes.
Optimus Gen 2 was then joined by another unit as they vibe with electronic music.
Tesla previously said it would use the robot in its operations. After some time, it intends to sell the robot to the public.
