According to the event's official website Tudum.com, fans are invited to co-stream and react to the event in real time on their Facebook, Twitch or YouTube channel.
Netflix is among several other major companies that have started hosting their own virtual events like Geeked Week earlier this year, as a way to showcase original content, compared to in-person fan conventions in the past.
The virtual livestream for the three-hour Tudum event starts at 12 p.m. EDT/9 a.m. PDT on Saturday, September 25. The event will be broadcast on YouTube, Facebook and Twitch.
Netflix’s event announcement comes as the streaming giant has spent the past year expanding its service and adding new features.
Recently, the platform launched a new “Play Something” shuffle feature, that helps users track upcoming releases and recommends shows based on what you've watched, as well as a new “Downloads for You” feature that automatically downloads content you’ll like.
Netflix reportedly also wants to delve into video game territory for mobile platforms and plans to bring spatial audio to the the platform’s iPhone and iPad apps in the future.
