WATCH: Check out the first 10 minutes of ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ online

Published Jan 28, 2022 5:03 pm

For those who haven’t had a chance to catch The Matrix Resurrections on the big screen, or are still waiting to watch it at home, Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first 10 minutes of the film online.

The Matrix Resurrections is the fourth installment in The Matrix franchise with Lana Wachowski producing, co-writing and directing, and Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity, respectively.

Jada Pinkett Smith and Lambert Wilson also reprise their roles from previous films along with newcomers Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Set sixty years after 2003’s The Matrix Revolutions, the story follows Neo (Reeves), who lives a seemingly ordinary life as a video game developer troubled with distinguishing dreams from reality.

The Matrix franchise was one of the most anticipated projects of 2021, with Keanu Reeves stepping back into his iconic role as Neo two decades after the last movie. Unfortunately, The Matrix Resurrections has not lived up to expectations, with critical response largely underwhelming.

The Matrix Resurrections was released internationally in theaters and HBO Max last Dec. 22, but it only arrived in Philippine cinemas last Jan. 12 and is currently not available on local streaming counterpart HBO GO.

As of Friday, Jan. 28, The Matrix Resurrections is still showing in SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia (MOA). For tickets and movie schedules, visit www.thematrixmovie.com.ph.

The Matrix Resurrections will be available to rent via Premium Video-on-Demand starting Monday, Jan. 31. The film will be available to rent from Prime Video, iTunes and other digital platforms, while its 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD debut will be on March 8th.
