And that, kids, is how I met your…

After the release of its finale in 2014, How I Met Your Mother is getting a 2022 reboot with the Hilary Duff Hulu series How I Met Your Father, and its first trailer is a familiar retelling of today's dating scene—apps, ghosting, and all.

In its first trailer released on Dec. 17, the show features Duff as Sophie, a hopeless romantic 20-something who's had one too many failed Tinder dates. Similar to the premise of HIMYM, Sophie getting ready to meet "The One" propels the plot of the series.

It started filming in September and is joined by Duff, Christopher Lowell, Josh Peck, Francia Raisa, and Suraj Sharma as her cast of friends. Unlike the original series, the face of the narrator, an older Sophie, is shown through Sex And The City actress Kim Cattrall.

"It was hard to live in the moment in 2022," Cattrall chronicles. "There was always somewhere else you could be, someone else you could be with."

Duff then takes the viewers through a series of dating app dates, until her friend Jesse (Lowell) sits her down to prepare for the first chapter of her "next great love story." Drake and Josh's Josh Peck also makes an appearance as Duff's potential romantic interest.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, How I Met Your Father will showcase 10 episodes with original HIMYM creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas returning to executive produce the show.

"I couldn’t be more obsessed with this pack of weirdos and I am very proud of our show!" Duff shared on Instagram. "Everyone involved has added something special."

How I Met Your Father is set to stream exclusively on Hulu starting Jan. 18.
