The team at Mondo told IGN that it "took great pains to capture Wolverine in this rare moment of repose, pining after his crush Jean Grey in a photograph."
The figure comes with not just a sad Wolverine face and the notorious image, but also with a neutral face, an angry face, an unmasked face, a morph head, alternative hands, electric claws that shows his pose during the opening, and a Thanksgiving turkey leg from the scene before he sulks in bed.
“I think we all remember that first day we watched the first-ever episode of X-Men: The Animated Series... sitting in bed or on our couches, excited and then... .that song plays… little minds blown everywhere! That intro song hooked us right from the beginning and kept us coming every Saturday for months and months excited to see what happened to Wolverine and the X-Men,” said Mondo creative directors of Toys and Collectibles Hector Arce and Michael Bonanno.
Mondo will also be releasing two posters of X-Men: The Animated Series called “Night of the Sentinels”which costs $50 for the regular and $70 for the variant.
This year’s San Diego Comic-Con will be held online with Comic-Con@Home which will start today, July 21 until July 25 on YouTube.
