Daniel Padilla has saved up so much he can already retire in his ‘30s

It looks like 25-year-old actor Daniel Padilla has been financially responsible since he started working.

He’s so responsible, in fact, that he can already retire at the age of 35 if he desires.

This is according to Daniel’s mother, TV host Karla Estrada, who talked about Daniel’s finances with celebrity doctor Vicki Belo on her Youtube blog, posted on Thurs, Nov. 26.

"Mayroon naman siyang savings. He's good. At 35, he's good kahit hindi na siya magtrabaho kahit hanggang apo niya. Nagtabi na tayo,” Karla said.

The TV host revealed that she manages Daniel’s earnings. “Ako lang nagha-handle ng lahat ng pera niya. Kasi kung ano man yung gastos namin, para rin yun sa lahat. So importante, may natabi sa kaniya,” she said.

The celebrity mother didn’t elaborate on their financial set-up, but shares that Daniel doesn’t ask for money often. However, Daniel has to ask for permission from her mother if he wants to make any major purchases—particularly his cars. Daniel has been reported, at one point, to have owned sports cars such as a Dodge Challenger and a Chevrolet Corvette.

“Mag-alala ka na kapag nag-ano na yan, ‘Ma…’ Iba-ibang tono yan, e. Kapag sobrang, 'Hi, Ma!' Hindi siya humihingi. Pero kapag humingi siya, mababa ang ano... kaya kumapit ka na sa pader,” she quipped.

Now, Karla said she’s planning to hand Daniel the reins of his own finances. “Para maramdaman niya yung feeling na nahawakan niya tapos babawasan niya ng malaki, mararamdaman niya yung feeling na, 'Ay, sayang.' Hindi niya kasi hawak, e,” she said.

Of course, it isn’t surprising for Daniel to be in a good place financially. The actor has been working since 2010. He got his big showbiz breakthrough when he paired up with young actress—and now girlfriend—Kathryn Bernardo in the 2012 youth-oriented show Growing Up. He has since starred in a number of successful movies and projects—including the 2018 movie The Hows of Us which, according to ABS-CBN, earned over P800 million at the box-office.
