UP, Ateneo, La Salle place in 4 out of 5 subject areas in 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject
The University of the Philippines (UP), Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), and De La Salle University (DLSU) placed in four out of five major subject areas in the 2024 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject.
UP was part of the 501 to 550 bracket in life sciences and medicine, as well as engineering and technology—the only local university that got a ranking in the disciplines.
ADMU was the top arts and humanities university in the country, placing 325th globally. UP placed 351st and DLSU at the 401 to 450 bracket.
For social sciences and management, UP ranked 276th globally, while ADMU and DLSU were part of the 401 to 450 bracket.
No Philippine university ranked in natural sciences, though UP is the only one listed in four subjects in the discipline: geography (201 to 230), environmental sciences (351 to 400), mathematics (501 to 550), and physics and astronomy (551 to 600).
The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024 features 55 subjects across five major areas.
A total of 1,559 institutions ranked across the subjects, with 64 universities joining the list.
