New Pokemon stop-motion animated series is coming to Netflix
If you're saddened by Ash and Pikachu leaving the Pokémon anime, then Netflix is out to brighten up your day as it is partnering with the video game company yet again to premiere a new Pokémon animated series made through the power of stop-motion.
Announced during the Pokémon Day 2023 Pokémon Presents live stream, the new series, titled Pokémon Concierge, promises to expand the Pokémon universe with ground-breaking stop-motion animation developed by Dwarf Studios.
Unlike the main anime series, Pokémon Concierge seems to take a turn from the formula of catching, training, and battling the different Pokémon species and instead take a more slice of life-type of genre.
"The series, which will be set at the Pokémon Resort, follows the story of our concierge Haru and the many Pokémon who visit as guests," said Minyoung Kim, Vice President of Netflix Content in Asia.
In the show's teaser trailer, the water-type creature Psyduck could be seen walking on a sandy beach, seemingly confused about where to go, as the show's star Haru narrates about the Pokémon resort.
Aside from this, Netflix already has a number of Pokémon movies and shows in the platform such as Mewtwo Strikes Back, Indigo League, and Journeys: The Series.

Meanwhile, the main Pokémon anime series is set to replace Ash and Pikachu as the heroes in the next series. The game-changing move will show "the final chapter in Ash and Pikachu's story" in the form of 11 special episodes that started airing since Jan. 13.
The new main characters include a young girl named Liko and a boy named Roy, who will be accompanied by the three starters of the new generation: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.
