LIST: Metro Manila malls where you can find colorful, gigantic Christmas trees
What's a Filipino holiday season without the piece de resistance that is the Christmas tree?
The beloved tree has verdant if not metallic shades, shiny accouterments like balls and lights, and even synthetic snow and glitters to boost the Yuletide spirit.
For those who wish to have a sight for sore eyes, several malls in the metro have installed their grand Christmas trees for all shoppers to see.
Here's a list of malls where your partner, friend, or family can have selfies by the gigantic Christmas displays, if not appreciate them from afar as you walk to your favorite shops and restaurants.
SM Malls
The ubiquitous mall made sure to put up Christmas trees that almost reach the ceiling, especially in its two biggest malls.
SM Mall of Asia's tree has red balls and sparkles with lights, some of which are connected to the railings of the third floor. It also has the sign "Paskong PInoy 2024."
Megamall, meanwhile, sustained the lights and the red balls—plus a star on top—but capitalized on the festive shade by having ribbons that extend to the upper floors. It also has the sign "Mega Holidays 2024."
At SM North Edsa, visitors are taken to the world of Elfdale with its green landscapes, digital waterfalls, and a dazzling 60-foot Christmas tree. Here, wizard Santa spreads cheer alongside elves, and a magical reindeer.
The Podium in Ortigas celebrates a white Christmas as its tree is encircled by giant doves and white and gold balls. At the bottom of the tree, giant flowers are in bloom.
Robinsons Malls
The Magnolia branch of the Gokongwei-led mall boasts a 30-foot tree that screams White Christmas.
It is filled with white ornaments that emit bright lights. There are also illuminating ball-like objects on the floor, near its base.
Meanwhile, at the new Opus Mall stands a breathtaking 60-foot Christmas tree adorned with red ornaments and ribbons.
Christmas at Robinsons Galleria evokes Nutcracker vibes with its striped display. On top of its cartoony tree is a shining Pinoy parol.
Power Plant Mall
This mall's trees capitalized on golden lights that seem like a swarm of a million fireflies.
The indoor tree has red and green ornaments to attract mallgoers, while the outdoor one has a golden star and minimalistic look overall that make it stand out, especially at night.
Ayala Malls
For TriNoma, the tall tree is filled with pops of color through its red and blue balls, rainbow-like circular lanterns, golden star, and yellowish lights.
Greenbelt, meanwhile, has a tree from Tiffany & Co., the luxury American jewelry store company's first holiday tree in Southeast Asia.
The mall said it arrived from Milan and was assembled in the Philippines for a week. Adorned with the company's iconic bird on a rock topper, the tree shines with glass gems and pink sapphire details.
Megaworld
Eastwood showcases a lit tree comprising a hodgepodge of balls, ribbons, gift boxes, flowers, and drums of different colors. It also has a multi-pointed star on top.
On the other hand, the Venice Grand Canal at McKinley Hill features a 40-foot floating Christmas tree decked out in sparkly red and gold.
Vista Mall
NOMO: A Vista Lifestyle Center is keeping things classy with a tree that's filled with red and golden balls.
There's also a golden sphere on top that has beads of golden lights connecting to portions of the ceiling.
Ortigas Malls
For Greenhills, it's all about less is more with its monocolored red tree made up of red balls. It's accentuated by hollow golden stars and a few gold trinkets.
At Estancia, visitors are greeted by a tall Christmas tree that looks like a present. The tree, which has bright red balls and yellow lights, features a red sign that reads "Estancia" that appears to be wrapped like a bow.
Bonifacio Global City
The mall's outdoor tree makes it a point to become the center of attention at night with its bright tones and large decorations.
It plays with texture through its red glittery boxes contrasting with its smooth red and white balls, even as dots of light are scattered throughout. There's also a 12-pointed star on top.
Shangri-La Plaza
Shangri-La Plaza has an unorthodox tree that's suspended from the ceiling, allowing spectators to appreciate it looking up.
It has golden balls hanging, surrounded by streaks of pellet-like glass.
The tree itself, comprising smaller balls of earthy tones, has a red scroll-like paper wrapping the tree for a spiral-like effect.
Gateway
The first and second sections of this mall have complementing trees.
Gateway 1's tree is cool to the eyes with its blue-green color. It also has cartoonish designs of bells, candy canes, and snowflakes, as well as gold and red balls, and the unforgettable star.
As for Gateway 2, it has a warmer feel with a pine-green tree pumped up by red balls, boxes, and stars. While the golden star remains on top, there are golden boxes at the base to complement the setup.
