LIST: New cafes in Marikina for fun dates and barkada catch-ups

There are times when a good cup of coffee is the only pick-me-up you need after a tiring week. 

If you're on the hunt for cafes where you can enjoy coffee with a friend or two, Marikina has good spots you can count on. These establishments are perfect for coffee runs as they don't just offer a variety of drinks—they also have good food on the menu as well as good ambiance, making them perfect for dates and catch-ups.

Kape Benito Community Café

Nestled in the quiet neighborhood, this humble cafe could make you feel at home. Designed with minimalist interiors, Kape Benito makes for a good coffee spot for slow mornings and chill hangouts.

Their menu includes Espresso, Americano, and Iced Shaken Mansikano—a fusion of Americano and calamansi—as well as tea lattes, juices, and mocktails. They also have classic affogato and specials like Campfire Mocha Roll.

If you’re chilling with your barkada, dine in al fresco as they can accommodate up to 20 people.

Palpitate Coffee 

This minimalist cafe caters to all your cravings—from coffee and desserts to delectable meals like steak. 

Palpitate Coffee offers a wide selection of espresso-based drinks and teas, including sea salt latte, palpitate latte, and bergamot passion tea, which you can pair with truffle fries or fish and chips. 

Their desserts include tiny cakes of sans rival and strawberry cheesecake, and all-time favorite cookies in different flavors. 

If you're coming in hungry, there's also a variety of pasta and rice meals, like Aglio olio, steak with red wine pepper sauce, Angus beef salpicao, and creamy shrimp scampy, with prices starting at P260 for a solo serving.

Resonate Coffee 

Resonate Cafe's dark yet cozy interiors matches its beverage offerings made with coffee beans from international countries like Brazil. 

The shop offers coffee, mocktails, pastries, and sandwiches. One of their must-try offerings is the Dirty Flan—their own take on Affogato with a fusion of sweetness and a kick of Champagnat blend.

Inarawan Coffee 

Also standing out with its dark and rustic interiors, Inarawan Coffee, which previously went viral for its rustic pop-up setup, has turned into an actual coffee shop. 

This dining spot offers a conducive space for barkada catch-ups as well as study and work sessions as they have free Wi-Fi. 

Apart from espresso-based and soy milk-based drinks, they also offer pastries like cream cheese and coffee buns, pastas, and breakfast meals like waffles with Hungarian sausage and chicken nuggets.

Cocol Coffee and Tea 

This Nordic cafe offers a wide selection of drinks in coffee, tea, and oat milk bases.

You can pair your favorite drinks with desserts like mini cheesecakes, pastries, snacks like nacho or sandwich bagel, or pasta like shrimp pesto. They also have all-day breakfast meals like classic Filipino silogs.
