Travel has become more accessible to many in recent years. Frequent flight deals make travel more affordable and getting a passport is a breeze with conveniently located off-site centers. It also helps that travel video tips on social media feed our wanderlust and inspire us to explore the world ourselves.

If you're looking for your next travel destination, Google has unveiled the top 10 destinations Pinoy travelers are eyeing to go to this 2024.

Based on the data gathered from Google Flights as of May 31, Pinoy travelers have been going to places where they can immerse themselves in the local scene, including partaking in cultural activities, trying out the local cuisine, and opting for nature-based travel.

Topping the list is the country’s capital city Manila, which always has something new to offer. From immersive museums to new restaurants, and many plays and shows, there's entertainment for every taste.

Another destination within the country is Caticlan, one of the popular entry points to the stunning beaches of Boracay Island in Aklan, and Cebu where you can visit historical landmarks and unwind on the pristine beaches around the province. There’s also Del Carmen in Surigao del Norte which also boasts stunning landscapes for your nature fix.

Overseas destination Tokyo, Japan also made it to the list. Here, you can see the timeless beauty of Cherry Blossoms during Spring. Some activities you can do are discover food stalls around Harajuku, buy pasalubong in Don Quijote, visit places inspired by your favorite Anime or game like the Pokémon Center or Nintendo World, or simply vibe and walk around the streets of Shibuya.

Pinoy travelers are also eyeing to visit Bangkok, Thailand, where you can participate in historical tours of religious sites like the Buddhist temple of Wat Pho, visit the Safari World, or go on a cruise in Chao Phraya River.

You may also add Taipei, Taiwan to your list, as well as rediscover the beauty of all-time favorite destinations Hong Kong and Singapore.

According to the search engine, Pinoy travelers have taken an interest in nature-based travel and sustainable activities such as tree planting as a way to give back as part of their stay.

When it comes to planning, they also found that most travelers use Artificial Intelligence (AI) for help in planning itineraries, which is prevalent globally.

“The shift toward more diverse tourism in the Philippines is likely fueled by factors like rising costs, a post-pandemic desire for authentic connection, and a growing awareness of sustainability,” their statement read.
