FIRST LOOK: Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill and its signature Beef Wellington
He is known for his fiery temper and exceptional talent. Very soon, Gordon Ramsay is bringing both to Manila.
The celebrity chef's much-awaited first-ever restaurant in the Philippines, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill, just gave a glimpse of its interiors and offerings ahead of its opening on Aug. 31.
The space located at Newport World Resorts includes a black polished Spanish marble centerpiece set against shiny navy-blue tiles with gold-accented shelves.
As stated on its official website, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill will have two private dining rooms "for intimate evenings for tastings, gatherings and more."
Meanwhile, with its food menu, Filipinos can expect to enjoy quintessential British cuisine.
What's on the menu
If Beef Wellington made Ramsay's ultimate food list, its presence in his Manila restaurant is not unexpected.
The perfectly cooked beef tenderloin wrapped in a layer of mushroom and truffle duxelles, encased within a buttery gold, flaky pastry, served with creamed potato and drizzled with red wine jus will surely be a hit to his guests in the Philippines.
Another honorable mention is the Crispy Crab Cake & Sturia Oscietra Caviar, a balance of crisp and creamy crab cake topped with a perfectly poached rich yolk egg and Hollandaise that add richness and depth of flavor to the dish.
Other offerings include burgers and premium-cut steaks.
For those with a sweet tooth, desserts include Sticky Toffee Pudding and the Caramelized Apple Tart Tatin.
Drinking after dinner? The bar list, meanwhile, has iconic cocktails including the Chelsea Royal Garden, a mix of St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, fresh green apple, Prosecco, and lemon bitters; the Paradiso, a tropics-inspired cocktail served to the table within a fresh coconut; and the Agave Sunset, a must-try of tequila, Campari, pineapple and lime juice and pasteurized egg.
Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Philippines is located on the second floor of the Newport grand wing of the Newport World Resorts in Pasay. Operating hours are from noon to 3 p.m. for lunch and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for dinner.
