Pregnant transgender man graces cover of Glamour UK’s Pride issue
Glamour UK put the spotlight on a pregnant transgender man in its digital cover for Pride Month.
The magazine publication recently introduced Logan Brown as its June cover star on Instagram, where he can be seen flaunting his growing baby bump.
This year’s Pride issue, according to Glamour, “celebrates the allyship that exists between women (cisgender or not) and transgender people through our shared experiences—in particular pregnancy, healthcare, and childbirth—something that is not often talked about with regard to the transgender community.”
The cover interview is about Brown’s unexpected pregnancy with his partner, non-binary drag performer Bailey Mills.
Their journey as parents began when Brown had “this really weird feeling” that prompted him to take a pregnancy test. “It was positive. I’d been off testosterone for a while due to some health issues,” he recalled. “It was like my whole world just stopped. That everything, all my manlihood that I’ve worked hard for, for so long, just completely felt like it was erased.”
“I’m a pregnant trans man and I do exist. No matter what anyone says, I’m literally living proof,” the LGBTQ+ activist said.
For him, welcoming a baby in a queer relationship is the “best feeling ever.”
“I feel like we’ll be able to love and appreciate each other, and my daughter will be able to. grow up knowing that she’ll always be loved and accepted for whoever she is,” he added.
Even though his unexpected pregnancy was met with backlash, he’s hoping to continue to raise awareness of transgender individuals and the LGBTQ+ community as a whole by writing a children’s book as well as an autobiography about his journey to becoming a parent, for those “who aren’t transgender but are curious and want to know about the situation.”
