They say if you do good for others, it will come back in unexpected ways...
A woman who used her life savings for her daughter’s breast cancer treatment won P109 million from a scratch-off ticket at a lottery—just a day after the latter officially won her battle against the disease.
According to a press release by Florida Lottery on Friday, April 7, Geraldine Gimblet of Lakeland bagged the top prize from the $2,000,000 bonus cashword scratch-off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
When Geraldine Gimblet of #Lakeland picked up the last $2,000,000 BONUS CASHWORD Scratch-Off game, her passion for crossword games paid off to the tune of a $2 million-dollar top prize, but that’s just the beginning of a truly, winning story! 👉https://t.co/q5mFPaUHR4 pic.twitter.com/mv55B9zmz9

“At first the gas station clerk thought there were no tickets left, but I asked him to double check because I like the crossword games the best. He found the last one," Gimblet said as she reacted to her big win.
"The day before my mom bought this ticket, I rang the bell and walked out of the hospital after completing my last treatment for breast cancer. My mom had taken out her life savings to take care of me when I was sick. I’m just so happy for her!" added Gimblet’s daughter, who accompanied her as she claimed her prize.
Florida Lottery added that Pipkin Road Beverage Castle, which sold the ticket to the winner, also got a $2,000 (P109,000) bonus.
