Big 'WTF' moment: Man meets his doppelgänger in Las Vegas pool
We've all had a fair share of bizarre moments in life where the only thing we could do is drop our mouths open and say "WTF?"
A man in Ohio experienced just that when he had a fateful encounter with his doppelgänger at a Las Vegas pool while vacationing with some of his friends.
In a post he made on Reddit, which has received 95,000 upvotes as of this writing, Sean Douglas McArdle posted a picture of him and his doppelgänger in the pool. The similarity between them is undeniable—the white baseball caps, the glasses, the matching goatees, and they even have the same cheerful smile.
"I wasn’t convinced until now…. we are definitely in a simulation. Today, I randomly swam past my Doppelseäner at the Flamingo pool in Vegas," he captioned.
McArdle, who is a 46-year-old professor at Kent State University, told TODAY that he was in Las Vegas to celebrate his friend's 40th birthday at the Hotel Flamingo. He was just minding his own business in the pool when he began to notice other people looking at him and laughing.
"Everybody on the opposite side pointed at me laughing and I just got a little embarrassed. I look back at my friends and they're pointing at some other dude and laughing," he said.
When he looked over, that's when he spotted a man who looked just like him—something that he described as "pretty surreal."
"I asked him, 'Are you Seth Rogen?' He chuckled," McArdle said as he recalled how he swam over to meet his doppelgänger. He shared that people often compared his looks to the famous actor.
He added, "I was the only person in the whole pool wearing glasses. I get weirded out if I can't see and I'm around a bunch of strangers, so I just kept my glasses on in the pool. He did, too."
Sadly, McArdle didn't get the man's name, so it looks like it's going to be once in a blue moon before they meet again.
