WATCH: 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' drops new trailer
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the prequel spin-off of the original 2007 movie, just dropped its latest trailer—giving more glimpses of the universal threat set in '90s New York that was teased in the first trailer.
"For centuries, our kind has stayed hidden on Earth," says the gorilla-like Optimus Primal, the leader of the animal robot faction Maximals. "But darkness has found us again."
Optimus Primal then tells Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots from the previous Transformers movies: "Prime, this is about the fate of all living things."
They talk about Unicron, an entity that's "eats planets," and is "way bigger than a planet."
The coming scenes show snippets of the Autobots and the Maximals coming together as they fight Unicron's forces.
Rise of the Beasts stars Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Tobe Nwigwe, Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, Liza Koshy, John DiMaggio, David Sobolov, Michaela Jae Rodriguez, Pete Davidson, and Cristo Fernández.
Among the voice actor giving life to the larger-than-life robots include Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), and MJ Rodriguez (Pose).
The movie is slated for a June 7 release in the Philippines, and June 9 in the United States.
