The skirt Sarah Jessica Parker wore as Carrie Bradshaw in the hit series Sex and the City sold for $52,000 (P2.9 million).

PEOPLE Magazine reported that it was among the items in Julien’s Auctions’ “Unstoppable: Signature Styles Iconic Women in Fashion” auction.

The auction featured items “from the Golden Age of Hollywood to today's trendsetting celebrities and influencers.”

Carrie’s tulle skirt is a white, three-tier tutu skirt with a satin waistband. It's worn famously during the opening credits, where the character gets splashed by a passing bus.

It was estimated to sell for $8,000 to $12,000 (P450,000 to P676,000).

The piece was sourced for $5 (P280) ahead of the series premiere in 1998.

Other Sex and the City items that were sold in the auction include an autographed cast photo ($1,170; P65,900) and Carrie’s laptop ($12,700; P715,000).

The top-selling items include the velvet cocktail dress worn by Princess Diana and the Givenchy ensemble that actress Grace Kelly wore to meet President John F. Kennedy and his wife Jackie. Both items sold for $325,000 (P18 million).

The auction also featured items worn by singer Whitney Houston, socialite Paris Hilton, and media personality Kim Kardashian.

Sex and the City follows sex columnist Carrie and her three friends—Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda—who explore the dating scene in Manhattan in New York.
