President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is set to be sworn in as the 17th President of the Philippines on the noon of Thursday, June 30 at the National Museum in Manila.

Under the 1987 Constitution, incoming presidents are expected to be inaugurated on June 30. The event was previously held every December 30, on Rizal Day.

As the days near, the Marcos camp has been preparing and making final announcements regarding the event. Here are the key details so far of the June 30 presidential inauguration of Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

It is a declared holiday in Manila

Outgoing Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko" Moreno Domagoso has declared June 30 as a special non-working holiday in Manila to witness the induction of Marcos Jr.

On June 22, Moreno, signed Executive Order (EO) No. 53 implementing "all law enforcement officers, including barangay officials, to strictly adopt and implement security measures on [the] said date."

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals have also declared work suspensions on June 29 and 30 amid the re-routings and road blockings made by the inauguration.

PNP will deploy 150,000 officers to secure the event

The Philippine National Police has said that it will deploy over 150,000 officers to secure the premises of the National Museum. Interior Secretary Eduardo Año added that "all hands are on deck" for a peaceful swearing-in: "We have prepared for this and we will execute all protocols as planned for the success of this historic occasion."

The police force has advised protestors to hold their demonstrations in "proper" venues during the said date.

"We've been receiving reports that they will stage a rally. There is no problem there; we respect their grievances and issues, but it should be only in a freedom park if they don't have a permit from the local government unit, please do it in the proper place and at the proper time,"  said PNP Director of Operations, Maj. Gen. Val De Leon

"You might unnecessarily disrupt the flow of traffic and the proceedings of the historic event. The traffic rerouting scheme will affect the entire Metro Manila."

Chief Justice Gesmundo will administer Marcos Jr.'s oath

Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo will be the one to administer the oath to the incoming commander-in-chief. The president-elect and vice president-elect say the same oath, which is as follows:

“I do solemnly swear [or affirm] that I will faithfully and conscientiously fulfill my duties as President [or Vice-President or Acting President] of the Philippines, preserve and defend its Constitution, execute its laws, do justice to every man, and consecrate myself to the service of the Nation. So help me God.”

Toni Gonzaga will sing the Philippine National Anthem

Celebrity host and longtime Marcos Jr. supporter Toni Gonzaga will sing Lupang Hinirang during the event proper. Toni and her husband, director Paul Soriano were active campaign supporters of the Uniteam party. They were also in attendance during the May 25 proclamation of winners.

Meanwhile, thespian and actress Cris Villonco will perform the inauguration song Pilipinas Kong Mahal along with the Young Voices of the Philippines choir.

It will be a “traditional, solemn, simple” event

Aside from its outdoor setting at the National Museum, organizers have also shared that the event will aim to be a quiet one.

"The program we have prepared is very solemn and simple. It would be very traditional dahil sabi nga ni BBM sa vlog niya, ‘hindi kami lilihis pa sa tradisyon," said one of the preparationc commitee heads, Franz Imperial.
