Miss Charm 2024 competition postponed over visa delays
The Miss Charm 2024 final competition is postponed due to visa issues experienced by some delegates.
In a statement shared on their social media pages, the organization announced that "due to unforeseen challenges related to obtaining visas for many of our contestants," the event in the United States will be postponed.
<"Dear Contestants, National Directors, Partners, and Esteemed Members of the Public, after the meeting with all the National directors, we regret to inform you that the final event of the Miss Charm competition, originally scheduled to take place in the United States, will be postponed," it wrote. "This decision has not been made lightly, but it is necessary due to unforeseen challenges related to obtaining visas for many of our contestants."
It added that there was not enough time for some delegates to secure their visas, so pushing through without them would be "unfair."
"We understand the disappointment this may cause and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Our priority is to ensure that every contestant has the opportunity to compete on a level playing field, showcasing their hard work and dedication without facing unnecessary barriers," the statement continued.
Miss Charm asked for the fans' "understanding and support" as they work on a new schedule. It added that a new date and venue will be announced soon.
"We want to assure you that the voting process and results will continue and remain unaffected. Thank you for your patience and continued support," the statement ended.
The Miss Charm 2024 pageant was initially scheduled to take place from August 12 to 24 in Los Angeles, USA. Reigning Miss Charm Luma Russo of Brazil will crown her successor at the rescheduled event. Representing the Philippines is Kayla Jean Carter, who replaced Krishnah Gravidez after the latter withdrew her title to compete in the Miss World Philippines 2024 pageant.
