How to join the 'bayanihan voting' to help Michelle Dee enter Miss Universe 2023 semifinals
A queen cannot be a queen without her people. That is why the Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) organization is calling all Pinoys to help the country's bet, Michelle Dee, secure a spot in the semifinal round of the 72nd Miss Universe pageant happening on Nov. 19 (PHT) in El Salvador.
The global pageant's local franchise has been encouraging beaucon fans to work as one in enabling Dee "to win the fifth crown for the Philippines" on social media since Nov. 1. The "bayanihan voting" has been taking place at 6 p.m. every day since last Wednesday.
A day after MUPH's announcement, the organization shared the good news that Dee rose to the second-highest spot in the Fan Vote. It is continuously urging Pinoys to vote for the beauty queen all at the same time so she would soon dominate the poll entirely.
According to the organization, the candidate who clinches the no. 1 spot in the polls is automatically included in the pageant's semifinals.
"Please keep on voting, You can vote everyday! Because with your help, we can be in a more secure spot—we can be no. 11" MUPH wrote.
Here's how to join the movement and help Dee come home as the next Miss Universe titleholder:
- Download the Miss Universe App on the App Store for iOS devices of Google Play Store for Android users.
- Click the "Vote" tab at the bottom of the home page, which will lead you to the poll featuring all the candidates of this year's pageants.
- Scroll down to Michelle's photo and click the star at the bottom part of it.
You can also cast your votes on your desktop through the Miss Universe Fan Vote website.
Your first vote will be free, but subsequent votes will require payment via credit card on the platform. Three votes cost $1 (P57), 15 votes are $4.99 (P283), 40 votes are $9.99 (P567), 85 votes are $19.99 (P1,133), 220 votes are $49.99 (P2,834), 450 votes are $99.99 (P5,670), and a thousand votes are $199.99 (P11,340).
Apart from the Fan Vote, MUPH is urging Pinoys to continue voting for Dee's "Voice for Change" video, which skyrocketed to the top spot of the poll last Nov. 4, with 139,837 votes. The beauty queen's video, which delves into her advocacy for autism awareness, bested the entry of Ukraine’s Angelina Usanova with 139,191 votes.
To start showing support for the Philippines' bet in the online competition, watch her video here and click "vote now" on the upper right side of the page. Then, check your email and validate your vote.
Dee is vying for the Miss Universe title against 85 international delegates in the 2023 pageant. If she succeeds in bringing home the crown, she will be the country's fifth Miss Universe queen following Catriona Gray (2018), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margie Moran-Floirendo (1973), and Gloria Diaz (1969).
The winner of the upcoming pageant in El Salvador will succeed reigning queen R'Bonney Gabriel, a Fil-Am fashion designer and model who represented the United States.
