This motorcycle ride-hailing app just launched Japan-inspired taxis with onboard amenities
When some are in a rush to work or an event and cannot afford to be late by taking the jeepney, FX, or LRT, they tend to book car or motorcycle rides in popular ride-hailing apps. However, it could also be a challenge as there are times when drivers may be loaded with other bookings.
If you're looking for another option that could help you with your daily commute, ride-hailing app JoyRide, known for its motorcycle ride and delivery services, is expanding its operations to include taxi rides with its SuperTaxi. Not only is it improving the quantity of available rides—it's also improving the quality of traveling with its units that take inspiration from Japan's very own taxis.
In a press release sent to PhilSTAR L!fe, JoyRide said SuperTaxi will have onboard amenities "designed to enhance passenger comfort, convenience, and safety, all at the regular metered taxi fare rate."
It has a sleek black exterior, five-seater, high roofing, modern digital toplight, and an in-cabin infotainment system.
Passengers may book a SuperTaxi ride via the app or hail one from the street.
There are initially 25 units in Metro Manila, with plans to increase its fleet by 2024.
To book a ride, one must download the JoyRide Superapp on their mobile devices via Play Store for Android users and App Store for Apple users.
Those who haven't registered an account yet must enter their mobile numbers, type the six-digit one-time password, and provide their name and email address.
Once done, the main menu will have an option whether to avail of a private car or a metered taxi.
After choosing one's preferred ride, one may put the pick-up point and drop-off point. Payment options include cash, e-cash, or the app's own pay wallet. Users may also add notes to the driver and add a promo code before confirming the booking.
