Hosts
The coronation will be hosted by Mario Lopez. In addition to hosting gigs on shows like The X Factor, Mario has also showcased his dance skills on Dancing with the Stars and America's Best Dance Crew. He is also beloved for his role as A.C. Slater on Saved by the Bell.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is returning as one of the commentators.
During a press conference, Catriona said returning to the Miss Universe stage for the third consecutive year is a "big thing" because it gives her confidence about her hosting skills.
"That's a really big thing for me because in a way it really gives me confidence about my hosting on an international level, and I really do enjoy it. There's a certain level of spontaneity and an event such as Miss Universe. Of course, everything is happening blow by blow — you don't know who's coming in or what's going to happen next. Naturally, with different hosting countries, the first two years were in New Orleans and El Salvador, and now it's in Mexico. So every different country gives a different energy and a different audience," she said.
Performers
The night isn't complete without its guest performers. This time, Taboo, a member of the Black Eyed Peas, will be serenading the ladies on stage.
Taboo, born Jaime Luis Gomez, pursued a solo career in 2008 but it was in May 2014 that he released his solo single Zumbao.
