Prince Harry now a US resident
Prince Harry is now an American resident.
The Associated Press reported that Travalyst Ltd—a travel company founded in 2020 and at least 75% of which is controlled by Harry—filed paperwork informing British authorities that he has moved and is now “usually resident” in the United States.
Companies House, the government agency that oversees the incorporation of United Kingdom companies, received the documentation on Monday, April 15.
The filing further estranges the son of King Charles III from Britain.
The filing further separates Harry, the fifth in line from the throne, from his role as one of the king’s counselors of state, who are tasked to carry out monarch duties if he’s unwell or out of the country.
Harry and his wife, American actress Meghan Markle, stepped out of their royal family duties in 2020.
In December 2021, Harry and Meghan in the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan talked about their experiences in the British royal family, including how they were unhappy about racist media reports and tabloid harassment. They also claimed that the family instigated some of them.
They're still formally referred to as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and are called Harry the Duke of Sussex and Meghan the Duchess of Sussex.
They, however, are simply introducing themselves as Harry and Meghan since then. They've relocated to Meghan's hometown California.
