'Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical' opens in April 2024
The much-awaited Parokya ni Edgar musical is coming to the theater stage soon!
Full House Theater Company announced on Thursday, Jan. 11 that Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Parokya ni Edgar musical will be premiering in April 2024 at Newport Performing Arts Theater.
“This April, get ready to jump on the journey of four women sa isa sa pinakaaabangang musical sa bansa featuring the songs of Parokya ni Edgar,” they wrote.
They also teased that the tickets would go live soon. More details, including the schedule, ticket prices, and selling dates are yet to be announced.
In the same post, the production house gave a synopsis of the upcoming musical.
“In a whirlwind of unpredictable twists, four women find themselves at the crossroads of their individual challenges. As fate intertwines their paths, they embark on an extraordinary journey of self-discovery, resilience, and unbreakable bonds,” it read.
The musical was first announced in July 2023 during the final curtain call of Ang Huling El Bimbo.
In September, the production house gave out a free special premiere invitation to anyone who could guess the title of the upcoming musical; in the same month, the band’s frontman revealed that it would carry Buruguduystunstugudunstuy—the band’s debut album in 1997.
The cast includes Kyle Napuli, Marynor Madamesila, singer-actress Tex de Leon, and stage actress Natasha Cabrera.
Joining them are Iya Villanueva, Maronne Cruz, Teetin Villanueva, Boo Gabunada, MC Dela Cruz, Franco Ramos, Red Nuestro, Ralph Oliva, and more.
Also in the supporting cast include Noel Comia, Jasper Jimenez, Pepe Herrera, and Nicco Manalo.
Critically acclaimed writer Rody Vera will serve as the playwright, while Ejay Yatco will be the musical director and arranger.
Parokya ni Edgar is one of the classic Pinoy bands of the 90s. They are known for their hit songs Harana, Silvertoes, Your Song, and Halaga, among others.
