PH's Sophia Arkanghel places in Top 6 at Miss International Queen
Philippine's Sophia Nicole Arkanghel ended her Miss International Queen 2024 journey in the Top 6 during the coronation night held in Pattaya, Thailand on August 24, Saturday.
The "world's biggest beauty pageant for transgender women" hailed Peru's Catalina Marsano as this year's title holder, while Saruda Panyakham of Thailand and Vietnam's Nguyen Turong San were named first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.
On the finals night, Sophia rocked the Tiffany's Show stage wearing a sultry red fringe gown with a high slit accentuated with classy gloves for her evening gown look.
The Pinay beauty queen showed her prowess in the question-and-answer round when asked, "What is the power within you that you think you want to pass on to other people, and why?"
She answered, "I think something that I can pass to other people is my positivity as a person. I'm a challenge-driven person, I can encourage each and everyone to think positively and to think optimistically because at the end of the day after every darkness we should always look at the bright side of every situation."
Meanwhile, Sophia emerged as one of the winners in the pageant's preliminary round, bringing home the Miss Glamorous Face award.
During the national costume round, she captivated the audience with an outfit designed by Joanne Mendoza. The outfit was inspired by the Galleon Trade.
The Philippines has three Miss International Queen crowns, with Fuschia Anne Ravena winning the most recent title in 2022, Trixie Maristela in 2015, and Kevin Balot in 2012.
